Update on the MPA Program with MPA Director, Dr. Mandi Stewart

The MPA Take a Break Week took place in February 2025 and offered students a chance to take a breath as they geared up for semester's end.

It’s been an exciting year for me, as I have taken on a new role as director of the Master of Public Administration program as of July 2024. This opportunity has given me a new vantage point to examine the appeal of our program to prospective candidates, observe the wealth of experience and potential among our current students and reflect on the important connections we have to our alumni – to you!

The strength of this connection was so evident this past year, to see how you all supported our students through internships and participated in various events on campus and online.  In the graphic below, we show a list of the many events and initiatives we worked on through the 2024-25 academic year, including a review of our curriculum to ensure it is serving our students in the best way possible for their future. To that end, please take a moment to share your insights through our Survey for MPA Alumni. We want to hear your perspective on our curriculum!

2024-25 MPA Happenings

One of my aims for the coming year is to increase our engagement with you, both for your valuable insights, but also for our common spirit of public service. To that end, we are intentionally bolstering our communication and events that engage with alumni, including planning a professional development initiative that will enhance alumni skill development beyond the MPA program.

Our MPA program has a rich history that I’m proud to be a part of, and I look forward to creating a bright future together. – Dr. Mandi Stewart
