Public Administration Alumni Society Hosts Luncheon and Discuss Nonprofits

The Public Administration Alumni Society provides opportunities for faculty, alumni, and students to network at fall luncheon.

On Friday, October 27, the PA Alumni Society hosted a luncheon that brought together members of Public Administration faculty, alumni, and current students for an afternoon of socializing and learning. The luncheon included a panel featuring Gladys Hairston, Program Associate at the John Rex Endowment, and David Heinen, Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy for the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits. The discussion, moderated by Dr. Richard Clerkin, Executive Director of the Nonprofit Institute and Public Administration Professor, covered the current state of the nonprofit landscape, with perspectives on changing policies and how to promote diversity and inclusion. The event provided students with an opportunity to network with alumni and get to know more about current happenings in the nonprofit field. The PA Alumni Society meets on the last Thursday of every month, and is an important supporter of the department. They provide opportunities for networking, scholarships, and educational events, such as the fall luncheon.
