A Place at the Table – Public Administration Nonprofit Networking

Students, alumni, and faculty discussing the nonprofit sector.
A Place at the Table in downtown Raleigh

This morning several students and faculty had the opportunity to meet at A Place at the Table, located in downtown Raleigh, to discuss the nonprofit sector. Recently,  Master of Public Administration (MPA) students and alumni have been reaching out to Dr. Amanda Stewart for career advice and guidance. With all of the inquiries received this summer, Dr. Stewart put together a collective nonprofit networking event to benefit her students and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.

There were a variety of MPA students, alumni, undergraduate students, nonprofit certificate students, and faculty in attendance at the event. Among the attendees was NC State alumni Mendi Nieters who shared her experience on how to get involved in nonprofit organizations. Mendi talked about her professional background, shared insights about working in the nonprofit sector, discussed the local landscape of nonprofits, and gave tips about navigating the nonprofit job market.

More information will be given as this nonprofit networking develops. Stay tuned!
