Meet Our MPA Scholarship Award Winners

Congratulations to our MPA Alumni Scholarship Award winners!

Thanks to the generosity of the PA Alumni Society scholarship endowment, we were able to offer two scholarships this year to Ms. Caryle Wittek and Mr. Gregory Pawluk. These students are recognized for their excellence in public administration, and we look forward to seeing all that they achieve in their future endeavors.

Caryle Wittek

Carlye Wittek is from Weddington, North Carolina, and now lives in Raleigh. She graduated from NC State in 2018 with undergraduate degrees in Political Science and International Studies. In the same year, she began the MPA program and started working full-time as a Legislative Research Assistant at the North Carolina General Assembly.

She graduated from the MPA program with a Certificate in Policy Analysis in December 2020 and joined Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina as a Policy Associate in January 2021. Carlye is thankful for the opportunity to receive the Alumni Scholarship and thanks the committee for their generosity.

Gregory Pawluk

Greg was born and raised in upstate New York, in the city of Hudson. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The Military College of Vermont, Norwich University. Greg has dedicated the past eleven years to public service as a police officer and investigator. He is currently a mid-level supervisor, holding the rank of Sergeant, within the Apex Police Department. Greg is also an assistant team leader within the agency’s Special Response Team.

In the spring of 2020, he attended the 87th session of NC State’s Administrative Officers Management Program, within the School of Public and International Affairs. A long time desire to make a difference within the community, coupled with his completion of AOMP, prompted his aspirations of continued education, specifically a Master’s in Public Administration at NC State University. Greg believes that the true measure of success is service rendered to God, to Country and to Mankind. He strives to lead with heart and compassion, working passionately toward positive change, showcasing the ability to serve equitably and safely, while protecting all communities. Greg shares NC State Football season tickets with his uncle and resides in Apex with his wife and daughter.
